Counter for Abaddon The Lord of Avernus : Mogul khan - The Axe

Abaddon ’s GUIDE :

Early Game:

Get ring of basilus (sobi mask+ring of protection), ring of regeneration and animal courier if you can afford it.

The main objetive is to harass your opponent. Wait for the creeps, the use the aphotic shield on yourself and attack your opponent. Int and Agi heroes are youre main targets. Remember that you will soak dmg, so dont worry about the creeps hitting you, just hit the heroe. Then the shield explodes and damages your opponent, he will retreat and use his potions. Wait for the cooldown (a very short time) and go harass him again, the tower will hit you and make your shield explode and you will ruin his potion.

Its very important to farm (only last hit) and to kill your own creeps. Stay BEHIND his mage, so he will not recieve xp from the creeps. If he comes near, shield and harass. As soon as you get level 2 upgrade frostmore and keep harassing your opponent.

Getting the first blood: keep hitting your opponent, upgrading shield and sword, if he comes near do the combo: shield and hit him, he´ll try to run but he´s slowed, chase him, the tower will hit you and destroy your shield (damages your opponent), use the shield again a keep chasing and hitting, the next tower will hit you then it will destroy your shield and…. first blood. return to your tower far away from the tower`s threatened area.

I think deathcoil is not necessary because it damages yourself and you really need your hps, nukers will think twice before getting near to you because your shield is a extremely good protection and your sword will make them slow so you can chase them.

Use your animal courier to get boots of speed(as soon as you get 500) then bracer, and sange (ogre axe +belt of str)

Mid Game:

At this point you´ll be upgrading your stats, this will make you a perfect tank, and hero killer. Keep harassing and killing, tank the tower. You´ll get a lot of gold so you need to buy: power trends and yasha, then sange&yasha. You´ll be unstoppable.

Borrowed time? : your opponents will hate you at this moment, so they will start hunting you. Borrowed time is a life insurance, it will keep you alive. When 2-3 opponents approach… shield and run, avernus is really fast and you can escape fairly easily.

Try to stay with your friends, if one of them is a stunner… he´ll be your best friend: stun, shield, attack with frostmore, chase (tower, explode, shield… described above) stun… kill.

At this moment you´ll have to make a very important choise: tank o support. Since you havent upgraded deathcoil, you have tons of mana so dont worry (remember to use the aphotic shield every time)

Tank: youre teammates are str heroes and you have stunners, buy: helm of iron will , mask of death, helm of dominator, messer reaver and satanic: you get armor, hp steal, 25 str and death pact. Your hp will never be small, use death pact as soon as you receive 500 dmg. You´ll be very hard to kill.

Support: teammates are agi and int heroes, the other team has destroyed more towers. Go for Mekansm. healing, regen and armor are nice, use when your near a tower and with a lot of creeps, and try to destroy many towers. Push, push and push.

Late Game:

At this point of the game you´ll have better items than most of your opponents so killing them will be fairly easy.

Choose your items wisely, depending on the situation:

Hearth of Tarrasque (high hp bonus, dmg and regen): useful against str heroes and nukers.

Aegis of inmortal (high armor, magic resistance): against spellcasters

Radiance: well everybody likes high damage.

Push and destroy towers and barracs.

Conclusion:

Remember that the main objetive is to WIN, not to kill everybody or play nice. Try not to go to the fountain, look for runes and damaged opponents. Being 1 or 2 levels higher than your opponents is the most important thing, denying creeps (killing your own) and make run away is the easiest way. Deathcoil can sometimes finish a heroe at the begining but after playing avernus you´ll realize that its very unlikely to kill without a FULL shield and sword, they run away most of the time or the tower will kill you when you chase them.
